The role is also responsible for delivering an appropriate and sound control environment, reconciliations, Regulatory, Group and Management Reporting for Treasury and Financial Markets

Job Description

Accountability: Regulatory, Management and Group Reporting

  • Prepare Central bank Reports relating to liquidity, maturity profiling, Foreign Exchange positions and Transactions
  • Perform daily open position, balance sheet and P&L reconciliation and ensure that Treasury and Financial Markets performance is tracked and reported accurately
  • Assemble and analyze Business ERP data as well as Macro, Industry and market specific data into useful insights, and avail to management in a timely fashion for strategic, tactical and operational requirements.
  • Get involved in the RAF, MTP & STP process for the assigned function providing analytical support of drivers and processes of the plans. This involves provision of historical individual and segmental performance facts necessary for objective performance goal setting that drives business performance.
  • Analyse and provide monthly detailed analysis of actual achievements against STP/RAF targets both at individual and segment levels.
  • Compile and circulate segmental reports to the Financial Markets business.
  • Preparation of Board, MBR, CMC inputs that relate to Financial Markets and Treasury business
  • Carry out Revenue Assurance for the assigned function monthly to ensure accurate reporting. This involves management of data integrity and accuracy from various reporting systems.
  • On a daily basis provide key performance insights from the balance sheet movements, transactional volumes/value information from customer touch points/business channels to drive real time decision making.
  • Responsible for daily DMR to flex cube posting and reconciliation of Front Arena files
  • Prepare and circulate Treasury Risk Committee (TRC) inputs to all relevant stakeholders monthly
  • Preparation of group reports relevant to the role

  • Understand and document all key controls thereby contributing to the adherence of the Group Risk and Control Framework.
  • Ensure that practices and controls required by policies are adhered to by all relevant colleagues
  • Monitor and log risk events (incidents) which are faced in the role

Education and experience required

Academic

  • The right candidate will be educated to degree level or above, preferably in a numeric / accountancy / finance related discipline. Professional qualification e.g. CPA, ACCA or ACI (or equivalent) is an added advantage

Knowledge and skills:

  • Professional/technical experience

The role holder will have experience or knowledge of large company finance/Treasury/Financial Markets functions and how they operate coupled with a good understanding of accounting principles and core finance processes. Experience of the regulatory and Product Control environment is seen as essential to deliver the brief, alongside which the role holder will have experience of working in a large organization with complex matrix and entity structures and have strong technical financial accounting and reporting knowledge gained within the Financial Services industry. The ideal candidate has Front Arena, MS applications and / or SAP system experience

  • Higher Diplomas: Financial Sciences (Required)
