Human Capital Business Solutions Ltd is a Boutique Human Resources Consultancy Firm that specializes in strategic HR Consulting, Talent Acquisition & Development, Risk Management and Business Process Outsourced Services with our Headquarters based in Uganda and Country Office in Tanzania.

Our client is a leading business process outsourced firm with a presence in Tanzania, Rwanda and Southern Sudan is looking for a competent and experienced Accountant to be based in Kampala, Uganda.

Position overview

The accountant shall be responsible for Preparing, recording asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

Reports To: The Head of Finance

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reconciliation of Receivables & Payables
  • Process payments and follow processes
  • Assist in the budgeting process
  • Reconcile invoices received with departmental billings
  • Issue invoices to customers based on services rendered and/or goods sold
  • Review employee expenses and make reimbursements
  • Track expenses as they relate to specific projects and jobs
  • Validate invoices against items or services received
  • Key data into company accounting system
  • Accrue journals, Ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Filing of Statutory returns
  • Preparation of management reports
  • Undertake audits as directed (Routine audits of site payroll data)

Academic/Professional qualifications, work experience, knowledge & skills

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commence or related field
  • Professional Qualification e.g. CPA, CMA, ACCA Level 2
  • 3 years working experience in a very competitive business environment.
  • Knowledge of best practice Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office
  • MS Excel skills including V-lookups and pivot tables
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A problem-solver with attention to detail
  • Following Instructions and Procedures
  • Planning and Organizing
