To manage the electrical and instrumentation projects functions in the most safe, reliable and cost
effective manner possible through; focusing, planning, coordination, supervising the various
projects activities to improve the plant performance and reliability
• Participates and champions installations and commissioning activities of electrical
systems.
• Sets performance objectives, monitors, appraise and validates contractors’ performance
to ensure safety and quality of works.
• Works closely with all other departments and is the hub of activity for electrical and
instrumentation projects to ensure time schedules, financial and quality targets are met.
• Prepares and processes certificates for proper handover of projects to the end users with
all documentations handed over to methods department to ensure proper records are
maintained.
• Generates and compiles project costs to prepare capitalization certificates for the
organisation to claim taxes and other costs.
• Defines/specifies technical specifications to initiate and tracks purchase requisitions,
validate offers to ensure the right equipment is procured at the right time.
• Develops and maintains justifications, projects details and scope of works, budgetary/cost
estimates, risk analysis, and initiates capex applications for sanction approvals and to
ensure projects meet set timelines, budget and performance standards.
• Develops and evaluates technical and economic performance of the projects prior to
appropriation to ensure the investment selected adds value to the organization.
• Works closely with procurement department to give technical verifications for the best
equipment selection to suit the purpose of the project and ensures the availability of all
project resources and equipment necessary for the timely implementation of projects.
• Coordinates contractor/experts activities in his/her section, to ensure the performance
standards are met as per set targets.
• Initiates and tracks purchase/service requisitions, verifies and validates technical
specifications on suppliers offers as per Hima standard
• Conducts site inspection during project erection/installation work, evaluates contractors’
performance in terms of quality of workmanship, safety for the team and equipment and
meeting of deadlines.
• Monitors projects expenditures on regular basis and takes corrective measures to ensure
that costs are within the budget limits
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering /Electronic Engineering with minimum
exposure of 3 years in electrical and instrumentation maintenance operations in a busy
cement organisation.
• Should have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.
• Should be results oriented, self-driven with a high sense of quality and ability to meet tight
deadlines.
• Should have computer proficiency in; SAP, Excel, Word and google worksheets, etc.
• Should have good knowledge of project management tools; CPA, PERT, MS Project,
IRT, etc.
• Good knowledge of project management methodologies (PRINCE II, PMP, etc).
• Contract management.
• Planning & Scheduling
• Understand cement manufacturing process.
• Knowledge of material transport equipment
• Experience applying FMEA techniques and knowledge of basic problem-solving tools
