Job Details:

Job Purpose:
This role oversees product development processes and procedures to ensure that products meet quality and efficiency standards. The Candidate will manage a team across the value chain to ensure high quality standards from sourced to crushed material in the Kampala, Uganda operations. The incumbent will also work with clients to ensure the final products meet the MGA sourcing, logistics and inventory management requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sourcing
• Drive market growth, retention, build supplier loyalty and confidence in the MGA brand.
• Oversee Supplier registration & verification process across all the channels.
• Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with all supplier categories.
• Monitor and report on competition in the market as well as advise on strategies to overtake them.
• Ensure that all supplier enquiries and challenges are attended to adequately and that timely feedback is given and immediately report to the line manager on any out-of-scope issues.
• Representing a positive front facing relationship with all Suppliers whilst managing them with utmost respect and decorum at all times to withhold the MGA “Supplier is King” mantra.
• Ensure that agent collections are done within the stated timeline.
• Follow up on Trading point Clerks to ensure that registration of all Suppliers into the Odoo ERP system from day one of delivery is done.
• Being proactive to inform the line manager of any observed supplier behaviour / challenges to avert attrition or loss of suppliers hence loss of tonnage.
• Coordinating inventory transfers to and from the yard facility and ensuring that all dispatch is made on the agreed time.
• Establish daily accountability for sorted material by ensuring that sorted material is weighed and the correct records uploaded into Odoo.
• Working with the Growth & Expansion team to develop long term sourcing strategies that meet company needs
• Monitor trading point performance and identify new trading point locations for the future.

Inventory management
• Comply with daily stock take procedures, weekly and monthly stock reconciliation.
• Efficient control of the flow and storage of plastic materials, update stock records, take physical stock daily and end-month on all items.
• Controlling inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage systems, ensuring inventory accuracy at all levels. Note that stock loss above 2% of purchases in any given month due to material transfer in logistics will be charged on the employee.
• Ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management by monitoring the quality, quantity.
• Check and inspect goods received to ensure they are of accurate quantity, type, and also acceptable quality.

Logistics
• Coordinate the transportation of sourced plastic within Uganda and transfer to MGA’s Yard facility.
• Managing dispatch of purchased recyclables in collaboration with the Growth & Expansion Manager as and when the transfer threshold has been achieved.
• Ensure that all stock received and dispatched is accounted for and signed off prior to transfer.
• Logistics supplier management

Operations
• Train all clerks & other team members within assigned MGA outlets.
• Handle all disciplinary issues related to direct reportees.
• Keep the Store adequately staffed at all times.
• Ensure that all employees are aligned with Company objectives and they meet the required performance standards.
• Ensure that all QHSE regulations are complied with, to ensure safe working conditions.

Odoo
• Validate all internal transfers from the External Trading Points to the Yard and to the Factory trading point.
• Oversee the reconciliation of all transactions at trading points.
• Ensure supplier registration is accurate and there is no duplication.
• Ensure sourcing targets are met.

Health and Safety
• Supervise and be responsible for and in-charge of all in country Health & Safety Protocols.
• Ensure that the Hub and country operations meet MGA Housekeeping guidelines in terms of storage of recyclable plastic post purchase.
• Coordinating any repair, purchase and maintenance of all country facilities and tools of work within a good timeframe to ensure Operations and Service to Suppliers is not compromised.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Mandatory Requirements:
• At least 7+ yrs of experience in a manufacturing company, with 2 yrs as an operations manager or a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement & Supply Chain, Business Management or related field
• Experience in Sales or Sourcing will be an added advantage.
