Reports to: Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Officer
Project: REAL Fathers Project
Duty Station: Bunyoro & Teso, Field Offices, Uganda
Job Summary
The M&E Assistants supports the REAL Fathers Project M&E system by ensuring; accurate data collection and entry into the database, maintain high data quality standards, facilitate continuous documentation and reporting processes. Provide mentorship and feedback at field level (community resources) and field team level. The Assistants will help to manage the REAL Fathers database and use data for better programming. This position provides data entry support to the M&E unit.
Major Responsibilities
Supporting M&E Activities
• Oversee the routine monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of REAL Fathers Project activities.
• Keep track of all monitoring and evaluation schedules to ensure they are followed.
• Mentor and support Staff and Mentors Fathers, on effective documentation of project activities and report writing.
• Identify training needs for Mentors Fathers related to record keeping, documentation, and reporting and communicate them to the supervisor.
Data Collection and Entry
• Ensure timely and accurate collection and entry of REAL Fathers Project data.
• Maintain Quality Controls and spot checks on staff and mentor's fathers, to ensure proper implementation of planned activities and interventions
• Participate in REAL Father Project data collection exercises including; KAP surveys, Pre and Post Evaluation for caregivers
Documentation and Reporting Support.
• Check for completeness and reliability of data before entry into the database including source documents/ filled forms for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain an up-to-date database for all beneficiaries and households, administering relevant data collection documents appropriately.
• Ensure Safe storage of beneficiary records to comply with data integrity, security policies and confidentiality.
Data Validation, Accuracy and Timeliness
• Accurately enter data from source documents/ forms into REAL Fathers Database in the stipulated period.
• Analyze and validate data entry errors and report to immediate supervisor for corrective action.
• Validate all submitted data by reviewing information for errors, inconsistencies, or missing values before entering it into the project system.
Job Specifications
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a Relevant field of social sciences, statistics, development studies) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Professional experience of 3 years in an M&E position responsible for Implementing M&E activities for Development Projects.
• Experience in planning and managing surveys, developing data collection tool, and data quality assessments and oversight.
• Strong analytical skills that pay attention to detail.
• Proficiency in data management tools and major databases like DHIS2, Kobo, MIS and analytical programs like Microsoft Office, MS excel Web Browser
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Fluent in local and English languages
• Experience in entry huge amounts of data.
