Job Purpose
The position holder is one of the members of BRAC Uganda's safeguarding team who will help to uphold our responsibilities to the vulnerable adults and children participating in our programs, help to create a safe working environment for our staff and associated personnel, and help to ensure all those involved in our work uphold the highest ethical standards and are safeguarded against any form of harassment, exploitation and abuse.

Core Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist and support the Safeguarding Manager, in the implementation of safeguarding across BRAC Uganda by delivering training to country teams.
• Support the Safeguarding Manager, to strengthen the capacity of safeguarding champions by conducting awareness sessions.
• Support safeguarding team to identify, map and regularly update local support services available to survivors,
• Act as the primary reporting avenue for safeguarding related concerns/violations and be the key resource for survivors, ensuring their safety, and security and providing survivor support services in line with a survivor-centered approach
• Conduct safeguarding risk assessment and integrate safeguarding measures in programs.
• Lead case management of safeguarding violations ensuring that BRAC Uganda meets its donor obligations to report safeguarding violations without delay
• Develop the capacity of staff to conduct sensitive investigations and produce high-quality investigation reports, maintaining confidential investigation case files
• Ensure organizational reporting and response mechanisms are functional, practical and community-friendly.
• Lead the process of identifying, mapping and regularly updating local support services available to survivors across the country in all the regions where programs operate, prioritizing the AIM project.

• Maintain the online safeguarding case management system, reviewing incidents submitted and ensure timely follow-up actions.
• Lead the annual safeguarding budgeting process for BRAC 5.Participate in program design meetings and kick-off Uganda, monitoring expenditure and follow up actions with workshops to support facilitating inclusion of risks, planning support from the Regional and Head Office Safeguarding and strategy with regard to safeguarding. units 6.Work with and follow-up with stakeholders to ensure

Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's degree preferably in, Social Science, Gender studies, Law, sociology, Human rights or any other relevant discipline or any relevant discipline, Certification in Safeguarding Case Management or Investigation Skills training on Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment is an added advantage, At least 2 years of experience handling the same work in a reputable workspace, Excellent understanding of safeguarding activities in designing, implementation and assessment in different contexts and geographies, Knowledge of safeguarding approaches for programmatic and organizational interventions,
• Clear communication and public speaking skills, capable of delivering messages appropriately to a variety of audiences Capable of working both individually and as part of a team, Ability to prioritize and deal with competing demands to deliver results, Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines, Ability to understand people in an unbiased way, Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
