SNV Uganda 2022 Annual Report and Accounts Design & Data Visualisation Services
Background –SNV works in more than 20 countries in Africa and Asia, aiming to transform agri-food, energy, and water systems for sustainable and equitable lives worldwide. With a team of over 1,600 people, SNV’s global agenda focuses on gender equality and social inclusion, climate adaptation and mitigation, strong institutions, and effective governance.
In Uganda, SNV has been operating since 1989 and has a deep understanding of the local dynamics. With offices in Kampala and regional offices across the country, SNV implements donor-funded activities in over 100 districts. The organisation’s projects in Uganda aim to generate employment opportunities, increase income, and improve access to essential services for disadvantaged individuals, collaborating closely with public agencies and businesses.
SNV Uganda has prepared its Annual Report and Accounts for 2022. The report covers various sectors, including Agri-Food and Energy, and highlights the organisation’s impact, reach, financial overview, commitment to systems transformation, management team, and thematic impact. SNV Uganda requires a consultant to design and data visualise the report to enhance its visual appeal and facilitate a better understanding of the information presented.
Objectives – The objectives of this consultancy are as follows:
• Design an aesthetically pleasing and visually engaging Annual Report and Accounts layout.
• Create data visualisations, charts, and graphs to present key information and statistics clearly and concisely.
• Ensure consistent branding and use of appropriate colour schemes, fonts, and imagery throughout the report.
• Incorporate relevant images, infographics, and illustrations to support the content and enhance visual storytelling.
• Provide recommendations for improving the report’s overall visual presentation and readability.
Scope of Work –The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Review the content of the Annual Report and Annual Accounts to understand the information presented comprehensively.
• Develop a design concept and layout for the report, taking into consideration the target audience and SNV Uganda’s branding guidelines.
• Create visually appealing data visualisations, including charts, graphs, and infographics, using relevant data from the report.
• Design engaging cover pages, section dividers, and page templates that reflect the theme and content of each section.
• Provide recommendations for improving the report’s visual presentation, readability, and user experience.
• Select and incorporate appropriate images, illustrations, and visual elements to enhance the report’s visual appeal and storytelling.
• Throughout the report, ensure consistency in design elements, such as fonts, colour schemes, and formatting.
Deliverables – The consultant will deliver the following:
• A design concept and layout for the Annual Report and Accounts, including cover pages, section dividers, and page templates.
• Visualisations, charts, and graphs representing key information and statistics from the report.
• Selected and edited images, illustrations, and visual elements to enhance the report’s visual appeal and storytelling.
• Revised report drafts reflecting the recommended improvements for visual presentation and readability.
Qualifications and Experience -The ideal consultant should have the following qualifications and experience:
• Demonstrated experience in graphic design, data visualisation, and report layout design.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite and Canva) and data visualisation tools.
• Strong understanding of visual storytelling and ability to translate complex information into visually appealing and easily understandable graphics.
• Knowledge of branding and design principles, with the ability to maintain consistency with SNV Uganda’s brand guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and incorporate feedback.
